The Future Belongs to the Masses II (Sentient Summer), 2005
40 year old teapots were discovered scattered across an abandoned Chinatown restaurant sealed off since 1974, sitting atop boxes like dozens of mute sentient soldiers keeping watch over the site. Incorporated into a site-specific installation with painting and sound elements, water was pumped up to and rigged to drip down from 15 foot ceilings onto tea leaves left in the teapots four decades earlier, the sound of which is recorded into a 16 channel ambient sound design piece.
